What procedure could correct the depression in my nasal tip? I am happy with all other aspects of my nose. (photo)

Hi and thanks for your question. I certainly think that you should not get rhinoplasty for this kind of subtle correction. First, surgery is not precise enough to address only what you want done and nothing else. Second, a filler like Voluma would correct the cleft in less than a minute, without bruising or operative risk, all at a fraction of the cost. Voluma lasts for 1.5 years or more. I am actually seeing more patients in my practice where the filler is still there 2 years after injection. There is also a permanent filler option with Bellafill. If you decide to go with Non Surgical Rhinoplasty, be sure to select an experienced injector and see their before and after pictures. There is no board certification in this technique. The area of indentation is called the supra-alar crease. Sometimes they can be asymmetrical from one side to the other. Depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections may lead to a smoother appearance of this indentation. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers like Voluma, Restylane, and Juvederm along with Botox can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose and lift the tip; however, it won't make the nose appear smaller. Revision rhinoplasty for a defect such as this may be aggressive overkill.  You can absolutely consider non surgical options such as Juvederm for a mid length improvement of approximately 1 - 2 years.  The nose holds filler material longer than other mobile areas such as the lips and nasolabial folds.  In my experience this has been a great option for those that have arrived seeking second opinions due to sub optimal rhinoplasty results.  You need to be very careful, and very judicious in the volume used and the injections demand a deeper plane to avoid risking necrosis to the tip of the nasal skin region.  This sometimes translates into a shorter benefit but a safer result and an instant fix to the problem at hand.  Hope that helps!!

A closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish augmenting the flat spot in the tip of your nose the cartilage graft harvested from inside the nasal septum.
