I have an extended thigh lift surgery scheduled with the famous Dr. Bradley Hubbard. I am curious if this procedure can positively impact the look of my butt crack at the bottom. In crass words my butt crack at the bottom is squared and my cheeks stick all the way down. I would like them to separate with a nice round contour. Does an extended medial inner thigh lift allow for the doctor to do this? This is a drawing of what I look like now and what I would like to look like.
Answer: Extending Medial Thigh Lift Hello, Thank you for your question regarding how to make your buttock crease look better and more round with an extended medial thigh lift. The short answer is “yes”. This is a relatively common procedure in my plastic surgery practice. Basically, in the operating room during this procedure, you are placed facedown. An incision is made in the infra-gluteal fold or where your meets the upper back of your thigh. Then, a crescent shaped area of buttock skin is removed from your lower buttock. The shape of this crescent will determine the inferior shape of your buttock. This area is excised and the incision is closed in layers over a drain. The incision extends from the lateral hip, in the infra-gluteal fold, and extends to the upper, inner thigh. Then, you are flipped on the operating room table. Liposuction is performed on the inner, medial thigh. Then, typically, an incision is made from the groin to the knee. A large elliptical area of inner or medial thigh skin is removed. Then this area is closed in multiple layers over two drains. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia. The medial thigh lift with extended infra-gluteal fold reconstruction takes approximately 7 to 8 hours to complete. Please plan on at least 2 to 3 weeks to recover. Thank you for your question regarding how to make your buttock crease look better with an extended medial thigh lift. If you have any more questions regarding a medial thigh lift with extended infra-gluteal fold reconstruction, medial thigh lift, buttock shaping or plastic surgery in general, please contact my office. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen(Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and member of the American Society Plastic Surgeons, International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and Fellow of American College of Surgeons and American Board for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Awardee: RealSelf 100.)

Answer: Will you see a difference in your buttocks? The medial thigh lift will not address the gluteal area of concern. A separate procedure including liposuction and excision could probably be done quite easily at the same time to address your two separate problems.

Answer: Extended thigh lift Hello and thank you for your question. Nice drawing. You need a separate excision of that excess fallen tissue, common after excess weight loss. There is a more aggressive technique performed by Dr. Mendieta as well.Peter Fisher M. D.Post massive weight loss body contouring specialist
