I had a thigh lift 6 weeks ago. Majority of the swelling is gone and now I can see the results and I'm not very happy. I used to be 300 pounds and now weight 170 pounds. I am curious to know if this should be a revision to my thigh lift that I will need or (because of my massive weight loss) be corrected with a bum lift. Would that help correct this issue? It seems like there is still access skin in the groin area/upper thigh location.
Answer: Revision for a Thigh Lift Thank you for your question regarding whether you need a revision for your thigh lifts. Thank you for your history and your pictures. I am sorry you are unhappy with your thigh lift results. In examining your pictures, I suggest 360 circumferential liposuctions of your thighs; this should be done first. After the fat is removed, the leg needs to be reaccessed. If you have loose skin, I suggest a revision thigh lift. I would extend the incision from the groin to the knee. You have excess fat around the knee region. You will get maximum results by doing this procedure in a staged fashion. I suggest you have your revision at your earliest convenience. I hope this helps to answer your question about whether you need thigh lift revision. Good luck. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Do I need a thigh lift revision? (Photo) The area of concern need to be specifically identified to provide a recommendation. An inner thigh lift is meant to improve the inner thigh, but skin laxity does not just end at a certain point; and sometimes incisions needs to be extended or additional incisions need to be made for optimal improvement.

Answer: Vertical Thighplasty / Thigh Surgery / Lower Body Lift Thank you for your question and photos. It is difficult to appreciate what you have had from these photos since the incisions are not clear. I think, you may have had a vertical thighplasty (VTP) where incisions are placed from the pubic area to the inner knee on the inside of your thigh. A VTP only reduces the circumference of the thigh by removing skin and fat from the inner portion of the thighs. This is a thigh reduction procedure and although many patients and plastic surgeons call it a thigh lift, there is no actual thigh lift offered by this procedure. Given that you still have significant laxity of your skin and lower body tissues, you would benefit immensely from a lower body lift (LBL) to remove the excess skin and lift the lower body. My comprehensive high-definition LBL includes a tummy tuck, a pubic lift, an outer thigh lift, a front of thigh lift, a buttock lift, liposuction, lipoaugmentation to contour the body, and buttock enhancement with your own tissue or fat. As a plastic surgeon specializing in post-weight loss plastic surgery, we have a large amount of information on our website to educate patients and one of the largest body lift galleries. Answer: Thigh lift revision Congratulations on your thigh lift, Otter2012. Since it’s only been 6 weeks since your thigh lift, I think it’s still too early to tell if you need a revision. You should think about getting thigh lift revision around six months after your surgery if you’re still not satisfied with your results. It looks to me like a lower body lift will help improve your results. But to know what kind of surgery would work well for you, please consult a reputable and board-certified plastic surgeon after you see your final results within six months. Good luck!
