Can filler be used to shape my upper lip border without increasing lip volume?

Yes it is possible if done correctly and conservatively. I would recommend conservative lip augmentation with Hyaluronic Acid, like Juvederm Ultra plus to see if you like the look. Another option is fat transfer which is more permanent. It is done under local anesthesia and fat is usually taken from the lower abdomen or thighs. Studies show that at least 1/3 of transferred fat last forever. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon in your area, Good Luck!

Yes, a small amount of filler can be placed to provide better definition of the "red white" vermilion border.  Typically, I use Juvederm Volbella for this type of injection, as it is a softer filler which provides a more subtle result.  I suggest a consultation with a board certified surgeon specializing in facial cosmetic surgery.  Good Luck 

The concept of Lip aesthetics has changed form imerely filling the lips to increase volume and size of the lips to that of creating a defined lip appearance.  Large overfilled lips without definition do not look good.
There is a new filler called Vobella XC. This has been developed to give definition to the lips without significantly increasing the size of the lips. This is excellent to create defintiion to the vermion boder of the lips and helps to outline the borders of the lips. It would also be excellent to inject a small amount of this filler into the cupids bow area of the upper lip and help to accentuate this area of the upper lip.  

Yes, you can have the filler placed along the white roll for more lip definition. I have even placed it within the philtral columns to accentuate their appearance.
