I just got my boobs done 2 days ago. I was an A and had 400cc put in. Though it is still very early in the healing process I had a couple questions . My breasts seem very far apart , plus it feels as if they are more so near my armpits . I have a lot of pain on the sides of my boobs and underneath . The top of my breasts are very tight . Does massaging help with the breasts to move closer together ??
Answer: Breast healing Typically, early in the post-operative period, implants can be displaced secondary to swelling and pressure from the overlying soft tissue. What you're describing sounds entirely normal but certainly it's worth a call to your plastic surgeon for piece of mind and reassurance.

Answer: Early postoperative result Two days is very early to determine the result of your breast augmentation. Some of the tissues need to stretch and some swelling will resolve. I would advise patience above all. I would listen to your plastic surgeon regarding implant displacement exercises. We all have different biases and ask our patients to follow our protocols. Rely on their postoperative care as much as you relied on their surgical skills. Good luck.

Answer: My breasts seem very far apart, does massaging help move them closer together? Thank you for sharing your question and congratulations on your breast augmentation. Initially the swelling from surgery present in your breast skin, tissue, and muscle will cause your implants to appear high, flat, and wide. As this swelling resolves you will see a rounding out of the lower portion of your breasts creating a more natural appearance. Additionally as the swelling resolves your discomfort should also improve. The distance between your breasts is dictated not only by your inherent skeletal anatomy but also based on your surgeon's pocket dissection. I would try and remain patient and allow at least 6 months to pass before assessing your final, long-term results. Hope this helps.

Answer: Breasts far apart Dear nikki5696,I understand that you are worried about the position of your implants. However, you are still in the early phase of the recovery period. Please do allow some time for the healing process to occur. If after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am.
