I know I need to see a board certified plastic surgeon (because all the doctors say this when a question is posted) but based on my pictures Alone, am I candidate for a lip lift and if so how many mm will give me a subtle results? Is the scar and risk worth it for 2-4mm? My philtrum measures about 17 (from side nostril straight down to lip line) and I'm 45.
Answer: Am I a candidate for a lip lift? How many mm will give me a subtle results? (photo) Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Based on your measurements it appears that you would be a candidate for a very subtle 2-4mm lift, but depending on your goals, you may better be served with dermal fillers alone. A thorough discussion of your anticipated outcome needs to be had in order to recommend the best treatment.

Answer: Lip Augmentation Candidate -- Injectable Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella), Fat Grafting to Lips, NovaThreads for Lift I would highly recommend getting a formal evaluation with and treatment from a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and expert in facial sculpting. Technique is the key to a successful lip augmentation with fillers, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. An experienced physician will be able to determine which filler, how much filler, and which technique will give you the subtle result you're looking for. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Lip lift Yes, you are a candidate for a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. You may only need 2-4 mm centrally but may need much more laterally, otherwise you will get the bunny look.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Lip lift It is possible to lift the lip for 4-10 mm. However, in your case, considering the distance between the nose and lip border, fullness and projection of your upper lip, I do not think that lip lift is good solution for you. Consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussion about your goals and options is recommended. Good luck

Answer: Lip Lift Dear Sabrina Thank you for your question and the photographs.Based on the photographs shown, you would be a candidate for the lip lift procedure. In terms of the questions you asked:1) for a subtle lift - between 5 - 7 mm would suffice for you. Your upper lip has sufficient volume and the lift would allow enhancement centrally to give a poutier look to the lip. This would also result in some incisor show with the mouth in the resting phase but not excessive show. removal of 2- 4 mm would not give you much difference in the result from what you currently have.2) in terms of the scar itself - this can be placed at the base of the nose (bullhorn) or along the lip margin (seagull). Either option works well. My preference is the bullhorn as this is hidden well in the nasal crease.I hope this is of help to you BW
