My lips are incredibly thin. I recently had veneers put on my front 10 teeth - my normal teeth slightly protruded inwards and therefore my upper lip had zero support. Whilst I can feel that support now, it’s hard to see a big change to my lip size. I’d like to get a lip lift to increase the red lip, but am concerned about too much teeth show and my chin looking huge in comparison to my small philtrum (currently 17mm). Would a chin reduction work be required or lower vermillion advancement?
Answer: Lip Lift Hi,You appear to be an excellent lip lift candidate. A lip lift will obviously decrease the distance between the base of the nose and the upper lip while increasing the upper red lip show. It will have no impact on the lower lip.Best,

Answer: Lip lift Your photos suggest that you are an excellent candidate for a lip lift. This procedure reduces the distance between the vermillion and the base of the nose. It also produces an effect to turn out the vermillion so there is more of the vermillion on show which mimics the effect of an fuller lip.

Answer: Lip Lift Thank you for your question. You would be a great candidate for a Lip Lift, this will give you a harmonious balance of the face and the mouth-to-nose ratio.A lip lift is a plastic surgery procedure that modifies the cosmetic appearance of the lips. The lip is reshaped to increase the red part (vermillion) and reduces the distance between the base of the nose and the lip (columella) into a more aesthetically pleasing shape. The normal distance between the base of the nose and the upper lip generally is 1/3 of the distance between the lower lip and the base of the chin. Therefore, the lip-lift addresses these aspects and hence reduces the discrepancy and restores the anatomy to the correct ratio. If you have thin down turned corners of the lips then the valentine lip lift (corner lip lift) will help to restore this to give an upturned corner of the mouth.Good luck in your search!

Answer: Best Candidates for Lip Lifts Based on the pictures you provided, it appears you would be a very good candidate for a lip lift. This surgery produces subtle lift to the upper lip while shortening the distance between the lip and the base of the nose. This outpatient treatment can often be performed using local anesthetic. It requires a single incision at the base of the nose. Recovery is typically around one week. Make sure you work with a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in surgical lip lifts to ensure an optimal outcome.

Answer: Should i have lip lift Hi Katie, thanks for your good question You have quite a long upper lip and this would lend itself well to liplift as it would improve the proportion of the upper lip and give you more vermillion show. you tend not to get increased teeth show with lip lift because it rolls the vermillion but it doesn't lift the full thickness of the lip. Lip lift will not make your chin look huge. Lip lift is typically an awake daycase operation (local anaesthetic) and, even at 1 week after surgery when stitches are removed, there is only minimal evidence of recent surgery. best wishes

Answer: Lip Lift The ideal candidate for the Elelyft, or upper lip lift, is someone with a philtral length of 14mm or longer, no upper dental show, and/or a thin upper lip. The nasal base to mouth width ratio needs to be taken into consideration to avoid leaving the lip corners down. In your situation, care must be taken not to overresect since you already have tooth show on repose. A chin implant is a reasonable option as well. Consult with an experienced lip surgeon for a complete range of options that are appropriate for your situation. Gary Linkov, MD Lip Specialist Manhattan
