Breast augmentation, yellow leak on incision two weeks post op? (Photo)

Question

Im almost 2 weeks post op and i have noticed a yellow leaking from one of my incisions since day 5. It doesnt smelI and the incisions do not hurt. I was recomended to change my gaze every two days, and that is how much came out. Is it normal? Should i be worried about an infection?

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs.  It appears that your incision line has suffered a small wound separation that is contributing to your yellow fluid leak.  Though your breast does not appear infected, it would be important to inform your surgeon of this so that they can follow you along closely in case any issues develop. It would also be important to rule out the development of any possible fluid collections.  Hope that this helps

Best to be checked up by your operating surgeon. It may not necessarily be an infection but you may have a seroma and the fluid is simply leaking out. Remember, an in person exam is always best whenever you have a question or are worried. Good luck!

It is not normal to have drainage from incision 2 weeks post-op.From your photos, you seem to have a superficial wound dehiscence.  Please visit your plastic surgeon to be evaluated since it has not resolved for a week.

I would recommend very close follow-up with your plastic surgeon during the healing process.  If you notice any redness or change in the character or smell of the draining you need to contact your surgeon immediately.  Follow your surgeon's instructions for wound care.
