Thanks for doing research! In this case, for Aesthetic Surgery, you don't need to remove it, hormones are not released in your bloodstream with this IUD. Good luck!
I think you pose an excellent question! It is true that hormonally related birth control methods can place you at higher risk for blood clots, especially for prolonged procedures and prolonged post-operative bed rest. Because your IUD has not hormonal relation, it does not place you at risk. Review any increased risk of deep venous thrombosis with a qualified surgeon. Smoking, age, clotting disorders, family history, and hormone status, and post operative mobility are important factors to consider.Best of luck!Dr. Windell Davis Boutte'
Thank you for your question. Its not necessary to remove your IUD. You are correct that hormones in birth control pills have been known increase risk for blood clots. The same is not true for implanted uterine devices. If you are only going to be under anesthesia a short time the precautions taken during surgery, such as compressive stockings on your legs, address potential venous thrombosis. Discuss this with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon before your procedure. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery.

Typically and musculature should not be damaged if proper technique was used. If there is a seroma or hematoma that developed this could be causing longer term pain. Often if scar tissue develops, radiofrequency treatments or ultrasound can help improve this. I suggest posting...
This is all dependent upon what the physician defines as an area and is different for each person. I do abdomen/stomach as one, flanks as another, waist as another, lower back as one... even though there is a left and a right of each (upper and lower for abdomen) and could be defined as...
Dear newgirl14, Congratulations on your substantive weight loss and commitment to weight maintenance. Diet and exercise, unfortunately, along with caloric restriction, will remove fat generally and systemically, but not locally and focally. It is often difficult for females through diet and...
