Will piercings help my nipples be erect more or will surgery be the only thing to help? (Photos)

Nipple piercings can help someone with inverted nipples but your problem is an areolar tuberous breast.  A  periareolar mastopexy could help and would be less expensive than an augmentation.   

May have slight tuberous breast deformity with herniation of some of the breast tissue through the areola.  Tuberous breast come in a wide spectrum and you may have a mild case.  Either way, nipple piercing will not really have any affect on how things look.Once you are financial secure to more forward with the procedure I would seek out a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.Hope that helps.

tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall.The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition.My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries.That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Thrifty1536I appreciate your concern, but I do believe you are being too hard on yourself. Your breasts are not so horrible! You have slight asymmetry, the left  sagging a bit and your nipples are somewhat herniated. Nipple piercing will not change your particular situation. When financially feasible, you may consider left breast lift with or without implants and possible nipple areolar complex reduction to improve herniation. In the meantime please understand that your breasts are still attractive the way they are and quite full and the asymmetry can be camouflaged with proper bra selection. Best of luck.

Thank you for your photos. Don't worry, many patients have similar breast shapes and ptosis similar to yours and can achieve a total transformation and natural results. You may benefit from both a breast lift and implant placement with special techniques used to score and expand your breast tissue to change it from a cylinder (tube) to a more conical and natural shape. At the same time, the areolas can be reduced in size and made more symmetric using the same incisions used for the lift and implants. It is important to have a thorough in-office examination so the right technique and implants can be determined. Thank you for the question and pictures. Yes, your photographs to demonstrate some of the characteristics seen with tuberous/constricted breasts. Generally speaking, some of the characteristics seen with tuberous breasts include a very narrow base, short distance from areola to inframammary fold, tight (constricted) lower pole of the breasts, relatively wide space between the breasts, "puffy" areola and some degree of ptosis (drooping).  

Generally,  correction of tuberous breast anomalies involves breast augmentation with areola reduction / mastopexy procedure. The distance from the inframammary fold is increased (to create a more rounded out appearance). Proper implant positioning improves the distance (cleavage) between the breasts. The areola reduction helps to treat the pointed and "puffy" appearance of the areola.   

My best advice: when the time is right, select your plastic surgeon carefully. Make sure that he/she has significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you will be pleased with. Then, communicate your concerns and goals carefully, as  well.   I find that the use of goal photographs and computer imaging are very helpful during this communication phase. Working together you will come up with a good plan to achieve your goals.  Best wishes.  



 

Your photos demonstrate a tuberous breast shape with pseudoherniation (protrusion) of the retro-areolar breast tissue. Unfortunately, piercing alone will not help, and augmentation alone only forces more breast tissue forward. You are not alone. This is a very common problem for many women, and even some men.There are muscle fibers associated with the nipple and areolar tissues. Their contraction with cold or stimulation will temporarily push the breast tissue back, as you've observed. A common surgical correction involves a periareolar mastopexy (lift) in which sutures are placed to maintain this effect. Although you may not be able to have this type of correction performed now, it is a great time to learn about your options for the future. Thank you for your question. You should probably wait and try to get a consultation for a breast augmentation with a board certified cosmetic surgeon. Maybe consider it when you more financially secure as that would probably be more suitable. Nipple piercing is unlikely to help.
