9 weeks ago I had a breast aug with tissue scoring and a nipple lift to correct tuberous breasts. Right after surgery my breasts looked completely symmetrical. But now 9 weeks post op my right breast has dropped more and is significantly larger than the left. My PS informed me that my left breast had a higher fold so it may take longer for it to “drop and fluff” is this true? My breasts look so uneven and I’m afraid they’ll stay this way.
Answer: Is it normal to have uneven breasts 9weeks post-op? Will my breasts continue to drop? Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to accurate assessment, advice, and/or meaningful reassurance. There are many variables when it comes to how much breast implants will "settle"; the main variable in my opinion will be exactly how/where the breast implant pocket was dissected. Again, for this reason, your plastic surgeon will be your best resource. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery. The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized. Some degree of asymmetrical "settling" is commonly seen. It may take about 6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. As the breast implants "settle", the lower breast poles will round out, and the nipple/areola complexes will sit higher on each breast mound. In cases where significant breast asymmetry persists, the pros/cons associated with revisionary breast surgery (for example, capsulotomy surgery for an implant that is sitting too high or capsulorraphy for a breast implant that is too low) should be carefully considered prior to making decisions whether or not to undergo further surgery. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Normal to have uneven breasts at 9 weeks? Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry that your current results have not been what you anticipated. It is difficult without photographs of your current and previous appearance to offer advice. In most cases of tuberous breast it can take several months for your results to mature and appear more natural. After 9 weeks, if you had a significant correction performed, I would recommend continued waiting to see hour outcome at 6+ months as you should see slow but improving outcomes. Hope this helps.

Answer: 9 Weeks Post Op, Will Breasts Still Drop? You are still early in your recovery. It may take several more weeks for your implants to drop into place. Try to be patient. Good luck.

Answer: Recovery I typically tell my patients it takes at least 4/6 months for the implants to settle into a more natural position. Especially if they are under your muscle. Allow more time for the settling to occur

Answer: Tuberous Breasts and Asymmetry It is not unusual for patients with tuberous breasts and asymmetry to take at least three months for everything to settle. Often, the smaller breast with a larger implant in place needs much more time to play catch up to the other side. At this point, patience is the key. There will always be a little asymmetry no matter how much is done to each breast. The hope is that when it is all said and done, the asymmetry is small and barely noticeable. I hope this helps.
