One of my side of nose is indented and weaker, is it fixable and how? (photos)

How exactly can the 2 sides of my nose as seen in the pictures be fixed?? I went to multiple consultations and no one gave me a definite answer. As you can see from the image the left side is indented and not like the right. I really wanna fix this.Thanks in advance

Rhinoplasty for correction of multiple issues. This surgery can improve the asymmetry of your nose but will not be perfect! It can be greatly improved however. See several very experienced rhinoplasty surgeons for an examination of your nose and plan of correction.

Thanks for your question and photos. Based on your description and photos, a rhinoplasty should be able to make the sides the sides symmetric.  A qualified rhinoplasty surgeon should easily give you an assessment and corrective plan of action.  Good Luck!

Thanks for your question.  Based on the photos, and the assumption that you have not had previous surgery, your nose may have a few issues, all of which can easily be corrected with nasal surgery. How is your breathing? You may have some asymmetry and curvature of your nasal septum, this will often make one side of your middle nose appear caved in.  The tip of your hose also has an indentation that you included in your circle. This is typically fixed either through attempts at camouflaging the area, or by straighening out and reconstructing that portion of your nasal cartilage (The lateral crus of your lower lateral cartilage).  In general, when the indentation (concavity) is as severe as your is, a camouflage graft alone may have disappointing results. Like everyone else will tell you, a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan would require a physical examination. The "how" really varies and may not be the correct question to ask. There are many different methods used, and most of them can achieve similar end results when done correctly and for the right reasons. Warm regards.

Hello and thank you for your question. If this indentation or dorsal aesthetic line asymmetry is due to septal deviation, then septoplasty with spreader grafts will help to correct this.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.  If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon.

While this will need an in-person evaluation, your nose could be improved with rhinoplasty, which would give permanent improvements in symmetry and shape. You can bring the pictures that you think would be flattering to your face and these can be discussed.  It takes special interest and study to understand the facial aesthetics to create a nose that is harmonious with your other features. Take the time to find the right facial plastic surgeon and ask them to create digital images of the nose they propose for you and discuss the cost.

The area that you're describing on the nose is an inverted upper lateral cartilage is best treated with  a spreader graft composed of the patient's own cartilage. An onlay graft may also be required for the inverted concave cartilage in the  tip area.  The dorsal hump can also be removed and that  bridge line straightened and narrowed with osteotomy's. All this can be accomplished with a closed rhinoplasty approach with all the incisions placed on the inside of the nose. No external incisions are required. Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an in person examination (not just an online consultation) and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique. 
 
 Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do and how technically to do it based on two dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.

Hi and welcome to our forum!From your photos, I note that the septum is off-center and the upper and lower lateral cartilages are deformed.This can be corrected with rhinoplasty. As there is tip asymmetry, an open rhinoplasty may give a superior result. Seek evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon and look at his/ her pre and postoperaive photos.Best wishes...

The indentation is caused by the structure of the cartilage underneath the skin. Which of your cartilages (the septum, upper lateral, or lower lateral cartilages) is the main cause would be more easily determined with an in-person examination and definitively determined during surgery once the cartilages are able to be directly seen. Repairing the indentation would probably require cartilage grafts (obtained from the cartilage of your own nose) or suturing and other techniques. Ultimately, a rhinoplasty is what is necessary to address your problems, and the specific techniques used would be determined by the surgeon during the case. Hope this helps!
