2.5 months post op, experiencing throbbing/swelling. Swelling can last for hours. Is this normal?

I recommend you seek re-evaluation with your surgeon sooner than later who can perform a thorough examination and recommend the best management options. Residual or fluctuating swelling is very expected months to years out from rhinoplasty and can be improved with maneuevers such as steroid injections, manual pressure exercises, and low salt diet. However, since you have associated throbbing and you have a history of an implant, it is important that your symptoms are not due to just expected healing versus an issue with the implant such as infection or displacement.
