2.5 months post op, experiencing throbbing/swelling. Swelling can last for hours. Is this normal?

2 and a half months post op thick skin Goretex on the bridge and cartilage for the tip. Random parts through out the day or when I become happy / blush my nose starts to throb and swell. The swelling lasts for hours or even the next day. Is this is Normal?

Thank you for your question. It is difficult to make an accurate assessment and recommendations without an evaluation. I recommend you seek re-evaluation with your surgeon sooner than later who can perform a thorough examination and recommend the best management options. Residual or fluctuating swelling is very expected months to years out from rhinoplasty and can be improved with maneuevers such as steroid injections, manual pressure exercises, and low salt diet. However, since you have associated throbbing and you have a history of an implant, it is important that your symptoms are not due to just expected healing versus an issue with the implant such as infection or displacement.
