The flaring of the nostrils, if dynamic, is caused by muscular contractions.  Surgical procedures to narrow them will do just that, but may not eliminate true 'flaring' if that is what is going on.  You should seek consultation with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate the dynamic nature of your problem and determine if alar surgery is right for you.Hope this helps!Best,Dr. Most

An alarplasty can make your nostril alar rims tighter and less prone to animation. A consultation is necessary to give you definitive recommendations.

Alar or nasal base reduction is performed to reduce nostril flare at rest or with facial animation. Sometimes a nasal tip procedure is also done to maintain proper balance in the lower part of your nose. I need to see pictures to provide more specific suggestions.

Dear always, An examination would be needed to determine your candidacy for alar-plasty however this is the general procedure performed to reduce nostril flare.
