Should my throat hurt this bad after Rhinoplasty?

Question

I know I had a tube down my throat but it has been almost a week and it's still causing me pain every time I eat. I cannot eat fruit or else it'll sting so bad. This whole week I have been having more trouble with my throat than with my nose. Please help!

If the intubation for general anesthesia was traumatic the patient can experience a sore throat. If it is severe you should have your surgeon examine you.

This is most likely related to the intubation during anesthesia and the fact that some surgeons pack the back of the throat during this surgery. However, this usually settles down in a couple of days. Should your symptoms persist, I recommend having this checked out by your surgeon. A traumatic injury to your throat or "Uvula" may need to be excluded.
