Facial liposuction: will the other areas of your face become fatter?

Generally speaking I think one has to do an awful lot of liposuction to change the way a patient is going to deposit fat - and I mean a LOT.  Fat manipulation in the face is comparatively minuscule compared to the amount of change we create in the rest of the body, so the answer is NO, you don't have to worry about fat distribution changes at all with this type of procedure.I would go a step further and suggest that fat grafting or removal from the face will not change future fat distribution "in the face" at all.Good Luck!

No, the fat won't redistribute to other areas, because liposuction permanently removes it.  I recommend a consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to be evaluated, discuss your gaols, and a custom treatment plan decided upon. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your question. No, the fat distribution does not change. It is more of a fluid component. By that I mean that fat will even out and change after lipo.  So, we remove it from one place and part of the adjacent fat pad will fill SOME of that area. It is good because it leaves nice contours. It is bad because it can negate some of the results. This is why I always tell my patients to try to be at their ideal weight before this procedure. Hope this helps.Best of luck,DrC

 In our practice, we do not recommend  fat removal from the face, since that will happen anyway with the aging process. By depositing the neck can certainly be removed with liposuction. The fat distribution pattern in the face does not change after liposuction

Liposuction causes a permanent change in fat distribution.
It does not cause fat or fat cells to emerge in other areas.
In high-volume liposuction cases other areas can enlarge if patients gain weight.
With the small amount of fat removed from facial liposuction The fat distribution will not change.
Weight gain or weight loss will have a new proportion based on the liposuction performed.
In other words if someone maintains the same weight the results of liposuction will be permanent if someone gains weight they will gain less volume in the areas treated with liposuction.

 Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek, chin or lips), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years.  While it's true that patients undergoing significant fat removal with body liposuction can see fat appear in other parts of their body if they gain significant weight (50 pounds or more) this is unlikely to occur in the face with facial liposuction.  Hope this helps.
