I have extreme facial chin hair which started when I was in college but has gotten worse . I’ve tried plucking my hair but it has only gotten worse which I’ve later developed a large cyst that became infected last year that needed to be cut open and drained. This left a small lump on my chin. I’m not sure if it’s an ingrown hair stuck deep below my skin but I am in need of fixing. My chin hair and acne has been very bothersome . Any tips or recommended treatment will be helpful
Answer: LaseMD treatments combined with chemical peels to improve scaring Acne scars are usually characterized within the subtypes of atrophic, hypertrophic, pigmented, or inflammatory. These subtypes of acne scars can be visually discerning in ambient light and can cause significant cosmetic concerns. Indented and atrophic scars require a combination approach to stimulate collagen and elastin, thereby smoothing contour and uneven skin. These are usually combined with lasers and depigmentation protocols to reduce inflammatory hyperpigmentation (Melarase AM and Melarase PM). Our Hidef protocols for acne scars include fillers such as Sculptra, Juvederm, Radiesse, and Restylane to improve deep acne scars; Vascular lasers to reduce inflammation and post-inflammatory redness and erythema; Fractional lasers to smooth contour and collagen; and Fractional RF to stimulate production of collagen within atrophic scars. Textural improvement and superficial scarring can be improved with Cosmelan peels, TCA Cross for ice-pick scars, deep chemical peels, and fractional CO2. We offer a personalized approach to your combination of scars and a formal evaluation with consultation is recommended to help you achieve your final results. Our plastic surgery office offers subcision and combination TCA Cross to help reduce deeply pitted scars. In terms of pigmentation and skin resonance, we recommend daily use of Melarase AM and Melarase PM coupled with Retinoid creams to achieve brilliant skin. Answer: Chin hair causing hyperpigmentation Routine lab work should be completed to evaluate hormones. Then consider hair removal to your chin. This will help with your ingrown hairs and help avoid any additional new areas of hyperpigmentation. Afterwards your hair removal treatments you can consider chemicals peels and/or skin lighteners.

Answer: Acne scars in chin I can see that this has been frustrating for you. You have issues with hair growth and acne scars. The first place you need to start is with the hair. First, a medical evaluation may be needed to see if you have some type of hormone imbalance which is causing you to have this unwanted hair growth. If so, this underlying cause needs to be addressed. Then, you need to look at having the hair removal. Laser hair removal with a laser that is safe for skin of color can help. With shaving and plucking, the hairs that grow back in can become ingrown hairs-leading to inflammation and hyperpigmentation. Then after this, you can look at procedures like Microneedling or injections with PRP to help with the acne scars. Chemical peels can help with acne and hyperpigmentation but typically are not the best to address acne scars.

Answer: Chin hair Your problem could have been caused by ingrown hair. Laser har removal may be a better idea than plucking out the hair The bump could be a scar. Also a visit to your dermatologist to treat the acne. In time the hyperpigmentation will resolve! Good luck!I would be careful with chemical peels, unless you pick one that is safe for darker skin for fear of further PIH
