Ayr saline gel Ok to use inside the nose?

Question

I being using Ayr saline gel since i have surgery 4 months ago because my nose gets really dry specially at night. But know I am worry because I read that the gel have parabens and that they are cancer causing. I use ointments too like Vaseline and aquaphor but I hear that Petrolatum can cause pneumonia. Can someone help me get a clarification on this, if it is true or not? and if there is any other products that I can use. Thank you!

Generally, these products are considered safe to use on the inside of the nose.  The AYR is not a known cancer-causing agent and especially have no known association with cancers of the nasal or sinus cavities.

Saline sprays, irrigations and gels, petroleum ointments, vaporizers are all safe effective ways to improve dry nose symptoms and prevent nose bleeds after surgery.

Ayr saline gel is a very safe product to use after your surgery. Petroleum products are also very helpful in keeping the nose moist and have been recommended for many years without any increased incidence of pneumonia or cancer. I would also recommend saline irrigations such as NeilMed Sinus Rinse which you can get over the counter.

I feel strongly that both of those products are quite safe. It might also be helpful for you to place a humidifier in your bedroom at night and to simply use a saline rinse or spray during the day.
