I am currently 5'8, 180lbs and used to 140lbs which I would like to go back to. Most of the weight is in my thighs and I have love handles but it seems easier to get rid of fat in my stomach area than lower body. How many procedures would be needed a d what is an estimated cost?
Answer: Liposuction results Dear MissOrginal, based on your photos, you might be a candidate for a surgery but you have to know that liposuction is not a weight loss procedure. It doesn't help patients to reach goal weight, it is a great option for body contouring. I would suggest you to reach your goal weight prior to liposuction surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Will “go big or go home” work in my favor? BA no lift Liposuction does result in some weight loss, but not designed specifically for weight loss. It is designed for reducing fat in specific areas, such as the abdomen, inner and outer thighs, back, love handles, etc. 40 pounds would be 10 liters or more of fat. Your best bet is to lose to your desired weight, and if you have excess fat in any of the above mentioned isolated areas, then have it liposuctioned. Thank you for your question and photos, and good luck.

Answer: Liposuction An in-person examination will be necessary to give you a proper recommendation but from what I can see, you appear to be a good candidate for liposuction. The photo you provided is limiting but I think you would obtain a nice result from liposuction of the thighs. Liposuction will address excess fat, giving you a very nice result. It is important that you understand liposuction is a body contouring procedure. Although some patients lose up to a few pounds after liposuction, the procedure itself not designed for weight-loss. If you intend to lose weight, I recommend getting within 5-10 pounds of your goal weight before moving forward with your procedure. I recommend setting up a consultation with board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best of luck!

Answer: Unrealistic Great question! Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, fat is not dense and does not weight much. Liposuction is more of a body sculpting procedure. You will definitely not loose 40 lbs, not even close. You may loose 5lbs, maybe 10lbs at most. If numbers are important to you, you would need to be on a weight loss program with diet and exercise.Best of luck and hope this information helps! - Dr. Roger Tsai Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Liposuction of 40 Pounds? Liposuction is not a weight loss solution. You need to get as close to your goal weight as possible before considering surgery. Liposuction is a great way to remove fat that does not respond to diet and exercise. You will probably do very well if you can get closer to your goal weight. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
