12 days post op. woke up post op with a garment on and padding (like bed wetting paper) 1 flat across back and 1 big pad in front rolled up but was flat. I wasn’t told what this was for & when/if to remove it. Over the week the chunky padding moved around mons where I used the toilet etc. I finally emailed clinic- was told it was just for weeping & safe to remove. I now have big indent where it was. Is this forever?

Answer: Indent You are very early in your healing phase and still have a lot of swelling, especially in that area. Padding should not give you any permanent indentation. You can massage the area as well. Please discuss any concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: Will this indent in my mons pubis post liposuction go away? Thanks for your question. Swelling in the first week after liposuction is quite common. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.

Answer: Irregular contour 12 days post liposuction Hi and welcome to our forum! Congratulations on your recent procedure...The procedure of liposuction is an "insult" to the soft tissues, resulting in swelling which will initially totally obscure the operative result. Swelling represents an accumulation of tissue fluid within the soft tissues. The application of localized compression to the involved area will cause a temporary indentation which will most likely dissipate with time. You should make your surgeon aware of the problem so that it can be monitored during early healing. The purpose of a compression garment is to prevent bleeding and to control swelling. We usually recommend its use for the first 4-6 weeks after the procedure. 60-80% of the swelling should subside within the first 6 weeks, with the remainder slowly subsiding over 6-12 months. In the unusual situation where the indentation persists, secondary revision could be contemplated in 6 months. 15% of cosmetic procedures may require a secondary touch up. Best wishes.

Answer: Indent Dear TaraUK, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a liposuction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery. Most likely that this will improve once your swelling resolves.
