I have a 3 month period in time I would like to get rhinoplasty/neck liposuction and facial fat transfer, which do I do first?

From a technical perspective, there are no specific reasons why one procedure should be carried out before the other. However, from an aesthetic standpoint, it would be preferable to perform the rhinoplasty and neck liposuction first.

This approach ensures that:
• The jawline contour and the appearance of the nose are adjusted, which significantly influences the overall perception of facial proportions.
• When considering facial fat grafting to the temple region, these changes may alter the perception of the size of the upper face. A narrower nasal bridge and reduced jawline volume may result in you deciding that the fat transfer is unnecessary or can be deferred.

I recommend proceeding with rhinoplasty and neck liposuction first, then reassessing the need for fat transfer after the initial results are visible.

If you have to do one at a time, do the rhinoplasty first because that entails the most recovery. You should be able to do the others within a month. It is perfectly fine to do them all together - you will have only one recovery period, and the overall cost should be less. Be sure to see a facial specialist for consultation.

I recommend doing a rhinoplasty and neck liposuction first and then have the facial fat grafting done.

We do not offer fat grafting in our practice since it is somewhat unpredictable and I believe that 50% of the fat will survive by the end of one year. That said, since you are having neck fat removed via liposuction, it makes sense to utilize that fat for the lipotransfer, unless if your doctor feels that it would not be an adequate amount. When we perform neck liposuction, we typically remove between 50 to 100 ccs of fat and local anesthetic.

Certain procedures are amenable to being done together. This combination of procedures can be done together safely. The neck or submental liposuction can be done, followed by temporal hollow fat grafting, followed by the rhinoplasty. The length of time in surgery should not be a concern since this should be well within any recommended time limits.

I have better idea. Do the nose and liposuction together. The lipo only takes. 20 minutes. Then see if you even want to bother with the fat transfer
