I would try a revision followed with micro-needling first to see if the scars can be nicely improved. If there is too much weight, you may need to go somewhat smaller.

I understand you are concerned with the appearance of your scars. As your scars heal, it should flatten out and lighten. Loss of pigmentation or hyperpigmentation may also be experienced but will resolve over time. Always follow your surgeon's post operative care instructions when it comes to scar management to avoid any complications like infection and for faster healing and recovery.

Downsizing along with a revision is not a bad idea. The scar is stimulated by tension. But after the aug and lift the skins stretches and reaches an equilibrium. I have revised hypertrophic breast lift scars after a year when the tension was decreased and added Embrace scar therapy, and they healed with a fine line afterwards. You could try that at a year, and if still was this bad, you could downsize the next time around. When I have done this for the horizontal scar, I just do one half at a time, so the whole extent of the scar is not again subject to tension. That worked well.
