I'm interested in getting calf slimming botox injections and wanted a professionals opinion on if it's safe long term (i.e. if you can keep getting repeat treatments for years) and if any results last over time?
Answer: Botox The effects of Botox are temporary, typically lasting three to four months. Consistent Botox use may lead to muscle atrophy so you may get more longevity long term. Many patients use Botox for years, even decades because they are so satisfied with the results.

Answer: Yes results can last if persist for a period of time Botulinum toxin can produce longer term results if periodically and repeated injected to the affected muscle, it can cause some more permanent atrophy of the muscle and produce a longer lasting effect. Muscle of course if use dependent thats why people who work out a specific muscle group can gain muscle mass. Dosage is also important so it is best to be examined by a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your needs.

Answer: Botox treatment of calf muscles Theoretically speaking, partial atrophy of any muscle can be achieved with use of Botox, temporarily. However, large muscles, like calf muscles, are very functionally important muscles (running and walking) and their unpredictable atrophy can result on permanent disability? To my knowledge, injection of Botox into these muscles for purpose of muscle shaping, is still within uncharted waters and there is no consensus of how to use Botox for this purpose safely and predictably? More predictable is surgical calf muscle(s) reduction which can be done using a small incision placed in posterior knee crease. Hope this helps.

Answer: Botox for calf slimming Botox started out being used in muscles in the body long before being used in the face for cosmetic regions. That includes the legs to treat muscular disorders in large doses. Botox is not expected to last more than 3-6 months and the dose needs to be repeated. Long term effects for cosmetic treatment of calf slimming may not be widely studied at this point.

Answer: Use of Botox in calf reduction Using Botox for calf reduction is an extremely safe procedure as long as it is being performed by plastic surgeon with good knowledge of anatomy of the calf muscles. The results can be controlled by the patient themselves showing the doctor where they want the muscle bulk to be decreased in size, Re-creating the shape of the leg. A physician has to be careful in making sure that they do not weaken to much of the muscle however. We regularly have many Asian models coming to our office twice a year approximately two weeks prior to a runway show in order to look their best. On the average the results last approximately six months and have to be repeated twice yearly. I hope this answers your question good luck from York city Plastic Surgery
