Thank you for including a photo along with your question. Based on the photo provided, you may benefit from masseter Botox. Botox to the masseter muscle will soften your jawline and create a slimming effect. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with extensive experience with injectables. Such experts will have specialized training and a broad understanding of facial anatomy, as well as an aesthetic eye to deliver your desired goals. During your consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your face, discuss with you your unique needs and goals, recommend the best treatment options, as well as ensure the safest and most natural-looking results.
Botulinum toxin to enlarged or hypertrophic masseter muscle is a common treatment that we do as plastic surgeons. but of course an evaluation first is necessary because if the enlarged jaw is from a bony origin, injection will not work and only surgery can change the appearance.
This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
From your photo it appears you are a good candidate for masseter Botox. This will help to slim the appearance of the lower jaw. The treatment is done in the office and the results will gradually fade over 3 to 4 months. See an expert injector near you for treatment.
Based on the photo, you would most likely be a great candidate for Botox/Dysport to the masseter. It will make the masseter muscle smaller with time, and slim your posterior jawline. I like your current strong jawline, but I think this will help your jawline look a bit more chiseled with treatment. Best, Rosa B Lipin, MD
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you had with prior Botox treatments. For the areas you are wanting to treat with Botox you should not experience dry eyes. I encourage you to select an expert injector and discuss your concerns for best results.
While there is information learned about Covid every day, at this time there is no known association between the vaccine booster and neuromodulator (Botox, Dysport, etc) immunity. You should be fine to proceed with your treatment as it's currently scheduled.
The Botox will gradually wear off. This is an area of constant motion which is in your favor which my speed its metabolism. Unfortunately, there is no antidote but hang in there and it will eventually return to normal.
