I use this incision to place implants all the time and tell my patients 2 weeks to swim in a pool. I would refrain from heavy exercise but lounging in the water is fine. Good Luck!
Dear sloera93you should wait until you are fully healed to go swimming. Every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
If we are talking about getting into the swimming pool, like any incision, you should not get into a pool until it is fully closed, usually this would be around one month after the surgery. Another thing can be preventing sun exposure when being in the pool, while the scar is red you should not get sun exposure since it can get pigmented and end up with a dark color scar. Scar redness can last around four months.
I advise my patients not to go swimming until all the scabs are offUsually 2 to 3 weeks
