My dog pressed his head against my face about 1.5 hours after Botox. Could I have messed up my Botox results?

I do not think that your Botox treatment would be affected by your dog pressing against your forehead 1.5 hours after your injection.  It does take a week or so to see Botox results, so I would wait 1-2 weeks.  If you feel there is any issue at that point, you should contact the physician who treated you.  

Botox can migrate from the site it was injected.  This is a general rule, and it's difficult to know if any type of manual manipulation could increase this risk for someone like you.  In general, I recommend my patients avoid exercising the day of the treatment but otherwise normal activity should be ok.

The product is injected into the muscle.  It is doubtful that the pressure from your dog's "hug" to the area will negatively impact your result.

Great question! One of the primary reasons we don't want a lot of movement or touching of the face post Botox treatment is because we want the product to stay in the muscle layer that is was placed. Sounds like the little bonk on the face from your dog was minimal and won't cause any issues. Now if you said, "the dog laid on my face for an hour during a nap", then we may have an issue. Best to stay upright and don't use too much expression post treatment to ensure you have the desired result.

I would not worry at all if a minimal amount of Botox was injected. Just touching the area after Botox shouldn't have any negative results. Follow up with your injector if you have any questions or concerns. Hope this helps.

Hey there! try not to worry - it sounds minimal pressure and that would be fine for botox. The type of pressure we try to avoid would include having a face down massage after botox as this may move around the toxin.
