2 weeks ago I had 360 lipo on my abdominal and lipo on my arms. Is it normal to have numbness and hard lumps?

Hello, thank you for your question. You are likely to experience the hard spots and numbness for anywhere up to 3 months. Sometimes it even takes up to 6 months. The symptoms you suggested are very normal to experience, so no worries! Patience is key.

At 2 weeks following liposuction, lumps are common.  Even after 6 weeks lumps are common.  Massage may help, but time will be the best treatment.  You may not see your long term results for at least 6 months.  There is usually a certain amount of numbness after liposuction, and this does tend to improve over about 6 weeks to 6 months.  Sometimes, it improves faster than this.  Much of this depends upon the extensiveness of the liposuction and the size of the area treated. Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Pending a formal evaluation, you may be a good candidate for a Revision Liposuction. You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. 
The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heats the skin with radiofrequency devices such as Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite, and ThermiRF to heat the undersurface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a liposuction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides  you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.

You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation, discomfort and irregularities are normal.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

it would've been nice if your provider went over what to expect during recovery. At two weeks I encourage my patients to avoid looking in the mirror because it just upsets people.  You need to wait at least another month before assessing results. At that point you'll have a general idea of what your results will look like. This is true for the lumpiness and in regards to results.  Final results are typically seen at three months. After that don't expect any significant change.  This does not mean your results will be to your liking or not. I have no idea how the procedure was performed but recovery typically is a bit awkward and six weeks is needed before judging the results.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
