Hi, right after my procedure I felt fine so I walked around to have dinner. But when I got back I found ‘blood’ dripping from the lipo site. I called my doctor immediate and he explained that’s not to be concerned as it’s not active bleeding since I don’t feel dizzy and my blood pressure was normal when I was discharged. This is just left over fluid in the body. Just wondering is this normal to have such ‘bleeding’ right after the procedure?

Thank you for your question and photo. Some redness or discoloration can be normal early after lipo like within 6 weeks. Anything longer then this you should go see your Plastic Surgeon to discuss.Best Wishes!!!Dr. Jamie Moenster, DO, FACOS, FACS
It takes time to completely heal from liposuction. There is swelling that occurs from this procedure so do not be discouraged. I ask my patients to not look at their body for several months. Over the course of several months your body will begin to heal. Best of luck!
