Should I be concerned about bump at incision site from lipo 20 years ago? (Photos)

Question

I had liposuction on my hips and buttocks about 20 years ago. A couple of years ago I noticed a bump under the skin at one of the incision sites. It’s not painful. Like a little ball under the skin. Should I be concerned?"

I would let your medical doctor examine this. This is not from liposuction 20 years ago, but could be a small cyst or even a fatty tumor.

It may be some hypertropic scar and is harmless.If you don't have any cosmetic concern then you don't need any treatment.

However please consult a board-certified plastic surgeon near you and discuss this in detail.

It's difficult to say what may be the cause of the bump since your surgery was so long ago.  I encourage you to have the area evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon or your primary care physician for diagnosis.  It may just be a little area of scar tissue.

Your skin growth is not related to Liposuction.
You can run it by your primary care doctor or see a dermatologist. To me it looks like a dermatofibroma or a benign mole a.k.a. nevus.
