I had a capsulectomy three days ago on my left breast. Now that breast sits higher and is not the same size as my right. Will this change with time?
Answer: Asymmetry after revisional breast surgery may improve with time. I see the asymmetry but there is a good chance that this will significantly improve during convalescence. Try to remain patient.

Answer: Will my breast drop Very likely your left breast will "drop" following release or removal of the capsule. A capsulectomy is a procedure whereby the capsule surrounding the implant is removed. A capsulotomy is a procedure whereby the capsule surrounding the implant is released but not removed. Both of these procedures will allow the implant to exert pressure on the remaining envelope. Very likely after the constricting forces of the capsule have been removed or released the implant should settle into a lower and hopefully more natural position. It is very common in the immediate postoperative period to see residual constriction of the breast before the remaining envelope has an opportunity to readapt.

Answer: Healing after a capsulectomy Yes your breast should drop after a capsulectomy, as opposed to a capsulotomy.Capsulectomy removes the capsule but capsulotomy "opens" it by incising the scar tissue. However was anything else done to the pocket that may limit descent?Example, suture techniques, etc. Only your surgeon knows for sure!Once in final position, again timing depends on the issues, in part, listed above, it does not assure symmetry but I would expect a considerable improvement.best of luck
