Can a big chin implant shift while doing dental work such as braces and retainer molds?

5 months ago, I received surgery for a relatively large chin implant that caused my bottom lip to somewhat conceal my bottom row of teeth. Next week, I have scheduled an apptmnt, to have molds done for my retainers, but the problem is, is that I am afraid that the tool that they use to form the mold, may put pressure on my bottom lip and chin implant, causing pain and discomfort in the surgical area. Is it possible for it to shift because of this? *They also apply pressure for about 15 seconds.

Thank you for the question and it is doubtful that the amount of pressure applied to your chin during the dental procedure would cause the implant to move but alert those doing the treatment.Dr. Corbin

Chin implants after 5 months tend to be very stable. Dental work should not affect your chin implant in general. Please follow up with your surgeon.

After this long, the chin implant should be very stable from formation of a fibrous capsule, and the dental procedures you describe would be most unlikely to cause any shift in position of the implant.
