Can a chin implant make chin more broad? (Photos)

Thank you for your pictures.  A chin implant can make your chin broader but I would not recommend that.  A broader chin will make you look masculine.  Your chin contours are excellent.  

Every style of chin implant that has extended wings will make the chin broader. Whether an implant will make the chin more straight, however, is different as implants are typically placed over the center of the chin. A chin implant in your case would need ti be placed somewhat asymmetrically to treat a crooked chin.

 Chin implants are manufactured  in a large variety of sizes and shapes, and can be custom carved when necessary to meet patient's unique anatomy. Depending upon the issues, a chin implant can make the chin wider, more projected, or add vertical height. The size and shape of the implants are best determined at the time of the consultation and examination, since the implants and the mandible are both three-dimensional structures. Many different types and shapes of implants exist to address many different types of chins.  In your scenario, an implant that has more augmentation on the sides and less in the middle can create the more "straight" chin you are looking for.In addition, most chin implants are made of silicone.  A nice quality about silicone is that it can be trimmed or shaved to sculpt an implant into a shape that will work best for you.  Most implants can be fine-tuned with some sculpting to give you augmentation in the areas you it the most.Best of luck with your decision.

Hi, non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years.  A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In cases where the anterior (frontward) chin projection is appropriate but the sides of the chin require augmentation, I prefer using a dermal filler (Restylane Lyft).Hope this helps.

Dear Emilyk1997, It is difficult to determine what your exact concerns are based on your photographs and not having a full set of pictures from several angles. So to answer your question generically then yes there are many types of implants in different sizes to accomplish chin projection. Can an implant make a chin broader? I cannot tell from your picture but there are many sizes and shapes of implants available to achieve the desired goals. For example, if your chin is adequately projected it can be made wider using a pre-jowl implant.
