Dear AlfadaleThank you for your questions a photos! The scars you have may be more amenable to excision or sub-cision . This would have to be assessed in person .With Warm RegardsTrevor M Born MD
Because there is a void rather than a simple depression, you will need to approach is from multiple angles. A CO2 laser and TCA cross can help build collagen along the side walls of the depression. Bellafill injected underneath the depression will help to push it up to help fill it from below. It may take multiple treatments but it can be done.
Acne scars are caused by tissue loss in the area where acne used to be. Treatments that generate trauma, either directly or indirectly, are options to decrease their appearance and build up lost collagen. Depending on the downtime you are able to withstand, lasers such as CO2, Erb:YAG, or microneedling with RF (radiofrequency) are just a few options. These should be paired with a good skin care routine to encourage healing after the trauma (products with hyaluronic acid and ceramides). Good luck!
Fortunately there are many options for correction of the scars on your forehead. All repairs could be done in the clinic. Option include subcision (breaking up the scar tissue under the depression with a needle) followed by injection of a dermal filler, CO2 laser resurfacing with a filler or direct excision (cutting the scar out and sewing the edges together). The scars are small so I think any of the above options would give you an excellent result. I recommend consulting with an experienced plastic surgeon to make the decision best for you.
There are many non surgical options to improve the scars already mentioned by other experts. Nothing wrong with trying them first. However, in good hands, a dermatologic or plastic surgeon can cut the scar out to offer you a great result in one step. Get an expert consultant to explain the pros and cons after an in person assessment.
Hi there. Thanks for your question and photos. Subscision (cutting the scar tissue under the hole), microneedling to stimulate collagen and PRP injection may likely do the trick (also known as the "vampire facial" with PRP injections). The microneedling will break up the existing scar tissue at the skin level and stimulate new collagen to grow. The PRP is platelet-rich plasma that is essentially like making all natural fertilizer out of your own bloodstream. It will amplify and enhance the microneedling's effects. I've had GREAT success treating scars like this. Hope this helps,@DrKatNP.trilogy
There are different types of acne scars and treatment varies depending on the type of scar. Oftentimes a combination approach to acne scars gives the best results. The type of scar that you have could be improved by lifting the scar and using a CO@ laser to resurface the area or microneedling with RF. When treating acne scars it is beneficial to combine the therapy with PRP. The scar could also be filled in using a dermal filler. Bellafill is FDA approved specifically for acne scars. You should consult with an experienced provider who can best advise you.
TCA CROSS would help with these. You could also consider a fractionated CO2 laser treatment.
In your case treating your acne scars is quite easy. An injectable filler can be placed into the Skin immediately below the scar bringing it up to the surface and evening the layer of skin. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City
