I'm thinking about getting temple fillers, but am scared about eye damage. How would I know if there is damage? Is it immediate or something that happens days/weeks later and what are the symptoms? Thanks!
Answer: How would you know if you temple fillers harmed your eyes? Blindness after an injectable filler treatment is quite rare, and likely depends on the skill of your doctor. In our practice we prefer microdroplet Silikon1000, a permanent filler that works well for temple hollowing. Silikon1000 treatments are not associated with blindness, necrosis, infection, migration, or biofilm. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph

Answer: Filler risks Hi,There are a couple of different techniques for safely injecting fillers in the temples. Most people prefer to inject deep (on the bone) where damage to the blood vessels of the eye are minimal. The other technique involves injecting more superficially, but using a blunt cannula. Either way, knowledge of anatomy and the experience and skill of the injector are critical. There are also many signs during the treatment that something may be wrong that a skilled injector will be able to pick up on and remedy quickly. Best,

Answer: Temple filler Temple injectables can be safe and effective provided your injector is properly trained and experienced performing injections in this area. They need to know the anatomy and have the skills to perform safe injections. Risks to eye damage are rare. However if any filler is inadvertently injected into a vessel, damage to the optic nerve can cause blindness. A skilled and well trained injector understands these very rare and catastrophic complications and utilizes techniques to avoid this. You would know right away if something like this was happening.

Answer: Injections for Temples and Sculptra I prefer Sculptra for the temples since it is a liquid and that way has very few side effects, and certainly the ones that you mentioned. If you had a filler injected incorrectly you would know almost immediately that something was wrong. That's why it is so important to consult an expert in cosmetic injections for the best results. Best, Dr. Green

Answer: Treating temple volume loss with filler Temple fillers can be safely performed by an experienced injector. Using a microcannula and slow low pressure injections in my opinion help minimize the risk of side effects. Blindness is very rare. Were it to occur, you almost certainly know relatively quickly.
