If I get 20 units of Botox for my chin/mouth area how long do I have to wait until I can get 20 units of Xeomin for my frown lines? I only had Xeomin once, 20 units for my 11s and it's wearing off. I'm seeing a doctor for Botox for my chin (never had it before). I will go back to my original injector for Xeomin for my forehead. I don't want to overwhelm by body - last time I felt numbness everywhere in my body after Xeomin in forehead (everything went away in a few hours, I calmed myself down).
Answer: Botox and Xeomin for different facial areas should be done by the same provider so they know the baseline for units Thank you for question. You're asking how long you should wait to have Xeomin again for your frown lines as it's wearing off, after you've had Botox done recently for the first time for your chin. You add that the first treatment you had for your frown lines was 20 units, and would like to repeat that baseline on your next treatment.I can certainly help guide you with this question, as I've been serving patients in New York and Long Island for over 20 years. As an oculoplastic surgeon, we were among the first doctors to administer Botox before it was used for cosmetic treatment. You can have Botox and Xeomin done by the same doctor, or just one of them as they are very similar in effect. Both reduce wrinkles by limiting muscle activity. It won't be overwhelming for your body to have both areas done at the same, as long as you have an experienced doctor measuring dosage. Botox or Xeomin are injected directly into the muscle you want treated, and take about 3 days to take effect, and effects peak at about 2 weeks. I usually see my patients 2 weeks after initial treatment to see how the effects have settled, and if additional enhancement may be needed. It is always better to be conservative, and add more later if needed, than it is to apply too much, and be stuck with the results until it wears off. With this type of follow up after treatment, it would be easier for you to see the same doctor who can treat both areas, and examine results in both areas during follow up. Your doctor may also decide to use just one of these products, and apply it to both areas.Your doctor who did your first Xeomin treatment already has a better idea of what your baseline for the chin would be. As you have already established 20 units for your frown lines, your original doctor would already understand how many units you can start out with for your chin to reduce dimpling. As your chin is already done, you can mention how many units were used in the chin, so you can see just one doctor for your own convenience when following up for your chin and frown lines. Botox and Xeomin can last 3-6 months, but I most often treat patients again every 4 months to maintain the result.I suggest that you consider one doctor for both areas. Select the doctor you are most happy with in terms of results, and your rapport and comfort with them. I've had some of the same patients come back for regular Botox and filler treatment for years, as I have become their primary beauty doctor, and these particular treatments do require regular maintenance. Having a doctor who knows how much you need before you even walk in the door will only help with getting consistent results, and maintaining the look you like. I hope you found this helpful. Thank you for your question.

Answer: Multiple Botox / Dysport / Xeomin Treatments on the Same Day -- Cobblestone Chin / Mouth Lines & Wrinkles / Forehead Frown Lines We treat various parts of the face with Botox / Dysport / Xeomin on the same day. However, if you wish to separate the treatments in order to avoid overwhelming your body, I would discuss this with your physician and determine an appropriate waiting time before obtaining the second treatment. The Botox results typically take about 1 to 2 weeks. In our practice, we use neuromodulators like Botox, Dysport and Xeomin and soft tissue fillers like Belotero to improve the appearance of the forehead by reducing lines, wrinkles and folds. Deeper lines and wrinkles need a combination approach with Botox, fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to develop a treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Botox and Xeomin Thank you for your question, Bkbaby. There is no need to wait in between areas, both of these areas could be treated in one day. There is no problem waiting in between or seeing different providers but it is also not necessary to do so.

Answer: Timing of Botox and Xeomin As long it is a different area that is being injected, there is no time concern for treatments with one product versus another. You should feel free to move ahead with the second treatment
