Will internal scar tissue after gynocomastia go away itself?

I had gynocomastia 4 months ago and had good results but i feel like they have become more puffy now, not nearly as bad as before but still puffier than i remember after surgery. At the one month mark, it was also less puffy than right now. I think it is scar tissue but what do you think? If it is scar tissue will it go away by itself even tho its been 4 months?

I would wait at least 6 months post-gynocomastia to advise patients if they will require more surgery or not. In certain cases if the operation was very extensive, I might extend this waiting time to 12 months, so I would advise you to be patient and reassess the situation in 6 months time.

At 4 months out swelling is normal and may take some more time to settle. The scar tissue may soften as well with time.

Whenever surgery is performed, the patient heals with scar tissue.  That is universal and pertains to every surgical procedure.When gynecomastia surgery is performed, it is not unusual for scar tissue to form, particularly under the nipples.  Scar tissue doesn't appear overnight -- it starts at about 4 weeks after surgery and may actually increase before it begins to decrease a bit.  Oftentimes it will disappear slowly (massage does help) but at other times it may need a "little coaxing" by having injections of cortisone to help melt it away.  Best to see you surgeon to discuss this issue.For further information about gynecomastia surgery and its after care, please see my website captioned below.Elliot W. Scarring gets worse over time and typically maximizes around 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. if you stay active that will help resolution of the scar. Sometimes a kenalog injection is useful to facilitate resolution of scar.
