I’m 28 y/o I have sinking eyes and am considering getting filler to help fix. Id like to do both filler under eyes and filler to fix the space between my eye lid and brow bone. I met with a board certified Ophthalmologist that told me to that it would be an injection in my brow bone. With injections in my brow bone, will it make my brow bone heavier? Will it directly fill the area that’s lacking the fat causing the space in my upper lid? Will I lose space on my upper lid?

Answer: Treating the upper eyelid with filler Yes, hyaluronic acid based fillers like Restylane can be safely injected into the upper eyelid/eyebrows using a blunt tip microcannula. The filler should not make your bone look "heavy" if done appropriately.

Answer: Brow bone/upper eyelid filler Thanks for your question. Filler can be really useful to "fluff" or pad the area at the orbital rim. This helps soften your look and make you look less gaunt/tired. Usually in this area, where the skin is thin, the filler needs be placed deep so there are no ridges or bumps. It is actually layered on the bone (not in it) and should not make the brow bone bigger or more pronounced. We are trying to mimic the look of fatty tissue there so it will simply fill the gap and not shorten or minimize your lid. I would use a light Hyaluronic acid filler such as versa or belotero for this purpose. Juvederm, voluma etc will attract too much water and be too heavy for this area. Hope this is helpful. Best of luck to you, Dr. Amy
