Lower double-lobed lip, can fillers help?

Can lip fillers make my lower double lobed lip disappear? I love my indent on my lower lip but ever since I had lip fillers done I feel as though it has slightly disappeared. Can fillers do this? And if so is it permanent?

Hi and thanks for your question. Injection of dermafiller can sometimes change the shape of lips but if it is a HA filler the result is not permanent and will resolve in few month.

Hi Kat and thank you for your question. It would be helpful to see a photograph in order to help you better. From reading your question, it is my understanding that the provider who injected you, did not ask your preferences and did not respect your natural anatomy and didn't not enhanced the features you love and make you unique.  I'm sorry that you are not happy but the good news is that it's not permanent and usually lasts between 4-6 months depending on the product used.  Hope you have better luck next time. Depending on how the filler was injected, you can make the indentation separating the two halves of the lower lip disappear. Some patients may not have a prominent indentation and some do. In my opinion, if a patient has a slight indentation, it looks more natural to try to keep it as that is the person's natural lip shape. If you liked your indentation prior to lip fillers, I would suggest following up with your provider to explain what happened. They can either try to dissolve out a little bit of product or you can just wait out the lifespan of the filler (normally 6-12 months). Good luck!

Lip Fillers can temporarily adjust or fix an uneven lip.  The results will last from 6 months to one year deepening on the filler injected.  Please consult an expert for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green

Thank you for your question. Dermal fillers can be uses to decrease or enhance the tubercles of the lips. Since dermal fillers are not permanent, the lips will slowly go to its original size and shape with time. I hope this help. Good luck,
