Answer: 10 days post op, some advices: Thank you very much for enquire. It's too early to make value judgments with only ten days after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity. In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months. To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. A drip pad, or mustache dressing, is commonly applied after surgery to collect any drainage from the nose. Ice packs folded into an inverted 'V' configuration will fit right into the nasal area that needs the ice pack. If these solutions do not work, I suggest that you consult with the board certified facial plastic surgeon who performed your surgery for other recovery techniques. Best wishes,

Answer: Mucus drainage after rhinoplasty Dear Irise123,If aggressive saline sprays don't get clear the mucus from your nose, I would contact your rhinoplasty surgeon to help[ clear some of the mucus. They can suction your nose in the office to help clear mucus and crusts that may be bothering you. I do not recommend blowing your nose or trying to remove the mucus yourself. You could potentially open a stitch or cause additional swelling that may comprise your results. Best regards, Gina Chu, MD
