Can uneven breasts from thoracic scoliosis be corrected by fat transplant? There’s a difference of about 1 cup size.
Answer: Addressing Breast Imbalance: The Role of Fat Grafting Fat transplantation can potentially help address asymmetry caused by thoracic scoliosis by adding volume to the smaller breast to achieve a more balanced appearance. However, it's essential to note that the success of fat transplantation for this purpose depends on various factors, including the severity of the scoliosis, the extent of breast volume discrepancy, and the patient's individual anatomy and goals. While fat transplantation offers a minimally invasive option for breast augmentation and asymmetry correction, it may not fully resolve significant differences in breast size or shape. In cases where there is a significant difference of about one cup size, other surgical options such as breast augmentation or reduction may be more appropriate to achieve the desired symmetry. It's crucial to consult with a plastic surgeon who specializes in breast surgery to assess your specific situation and determine the most suitable treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals. They can evaluate your scoliosis-related breast asymmetry and recommend the most effective approach for achieving optimal results.

Answer: Breast fat transfer for mild asymmetry Breast fat transfer can work great for correcting mild breast asymmetry and avoiding an implant. There are many positive aspects to that surgery. One down side to it is that the amount of fat that survives is a bit variable between patients. Approximately 50-60% may survive. It is a bit of a moving target. It is possible that the operated breast is made a bit bigger or left a bit smaller than the other side. I advise patients that we are trying to match the breasts as best possible, but they will never be the exact same. Obviously one can choose to make both breasts fuller with breast fat transfer as well. More fat is put into the smaller breast to improve the asymmetry. Dr. Rodger Shortt, Oakville, Ontario.

Answer: Breast asymmetry Dear msminnamouse, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, minor asymmetry can be corrected with fat transfer. Major asymmetry correction will require implants and often combination of implants and reduction. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Breasts With a fat transfer, you can expect one half to one cup in volume increase if you have enough breast tissue to support that much fat. Realistically, you do need donor fat and need at least a B cup of tissue for good results. If you are an A or less, implants will be the better chose. You did not post photos, so I recommend going in for a consultation and see what your options are.
