I am 5’4” 148 pounds. I have fat on my stomach and back. I have a decent size butt. But I have no hips at all. I actually have hip dips. Could this be successfully corrected through a BBL?
Answer: Fat Transfers to Hips As far as fat survival, correct fat processing, selection, and micro-injection methods are essential for a safe and permanent result, as is the patient following the surgeon's post-op instructions. The only area that is prone to less-than-usual fat survival is the lips, basically because it is quite difficult to "rest" your lips for any real length of time.I have been injecting fat into the hips (the trochanteric fat pad) for years as part of a BBL when warranted by the patient's aesthetic goals. It is entirely possible to address a narrow hip (or hip dips) during a Brazilian Butt lift and the fat will indeed survive just fine (provided all of the optimal conditions have been met).Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in fat transfers to the buttocks and hips.Good luck and best wishes!

Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift About 60% of fat from the transfer is retained and the results are permanent. The size will change with your weight just as the rest of your body does. In other words, the fat acts like it was naturally there. You can get a good idea of the final result after 6 months.

Answer: Is it true that it is hard for the fat to survive in the hip area from a BBL? hello thank you for your question and provided information as well .. based on your question the fat is unpredictable and may or may not reabsorb more than stipulated in books, but a high percentage at least I say it for my patients that the majority I perform liposuction, bbl and hips, only a low percentage is reabsorbed but the shape and volume conserve it.

Answer: Hip grafting during BBL There are a lot of definitions as to where exactly the hips are and different people and patients and even including doctors can somewhat vary in their description. But that being said your hips dips are very common and easily grafted and the fat survives well here. If you are talking about going more laterally, that is away from the center of the butt and moving towards the front of your leg there is an area that is not as receptive to fat grafting either in amount or take but I would say that there are not many patients that really benefit from a lot of fat placed here anyway nad most are interested in and benefit from fat grafting to the hip dip area which is more medial, that is directed to the center of the butt.

Answer: Fat Transfer to Hips Thanks for your question. There is typically less room to graft fat in the hip area. This is why it's not easy to get projection in this area. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Moises Salama M.D., Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
