I just got my period, can I stop wearing my compression garment until it's over?

 Thanks so much for reaching out. The short answer is no you may not stop wearing your compression garment.   It is vital that you keep your compression garment on at all times especially early in the postoperative period.  Most garments have a hole cut out in the crotch you can put a pad on here and then your underwear over the garment to hold in place.

Your surgeon may want you to wear the compression garment around the clock, so I would contact your surgeon.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well. 
Having your period is not a reason for not use your garment, i understand the hygiene  issues but it is important use it to prevent the swollen. Remember to follow your surgeons advises. You need to wear your garment 24/7 for the few weeks after your surgery. Good luck :)
