Dent above butt hole? Removal? (Photo)

Question

I was born with this rather deep dimple, or it might be a very small hole, above by butt hole going along crack I never paid much mind do it, but now that I want a Brazilian butt lift, I'm scared it might be in the way It does not bleed. Nothing has ever come out of it. It does not swell. It does not hurt. I don't do anything special for it. It's just..There How would you fix it? I want to get a Brazilian Butt Lift, but I don't want this to become a problem

Thank you for your pictures and questions. This is likely a tract from a pilonidal cyst. If you are concerned about this affecting your cosmetic surgery procedure, then you could have the cyst and tract excised and closed and allow that to heal before considering proceeding with any elective procedures.Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question. Having a dent in this area is not uncommon and doesn't not mean that you will have any issues with a BBL surgery. I would find an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals. They will examine you and advise you how best to proceed. There should be no issues.

You definitely want to have someone evaluate this "dimple" before considering surgery. Things like this that look like no big deal can actually be much more involved than just a superficial dent in the skin. It can be a false tract to other important structures.

Hi lootoo,A dimple in this location should be fully evaluated prior to surgery.  Several things can lead to this finding, but the most critical thing would involve your spinal cord.  The other things to consider are Pilonidal tract, which should be excised prior to having any procedure done.  These can get infected and become an issue.  You should see a plastic surgeon for an in person examination, so you can have a more thorough discussion.Hope that helps.Best, Dr. B
