Considering breast reduction at 24 - would my insurance cover it?

Every insurance policy is different regarding requirements to be covered as medically necessary.  Your first step is to contact your insurance policy and ask them to give you their criteria.  Generally you will need to have documentation that you have failed conservative therapy to alleviate your symptoms.  This would include letters from your treating physicians as well as use of special bras, physical therapy etc.  Additionally you will need to see a plastic surgeon who will submit pictures as well as an estimate as to the amount of tissue to be removed.  Finally some insurance companies will look at your weight/height and body mass index to calculate what is considered medically necessary.
