I am well aware liposuction is NOT a weight loss procedure, however, if I have 5 liters removed from my legs (and 3 liters is fat, 2 liters fluids), will that result in at least a 3-5 lb weight loss AFTER swelling subsides if I maintain healthy eating/exercise throughout my healing journey?

Answer: The Weight of Fat Each liter of fat weighs about 2 lbs. So that’s around 6 lbs if 3 liters of fat is removed. It may take a 3-4 weeks for some of the weight loss to show up on a scale.

Answer: Liposuction and weight loss Liposuction does reduce weight. However, liposuction is not to the ideal treatment for obesity. Each liter of fat removed corresponds to 2 lbs. At the time of liposuction, 5 liters can be removed which corresponds to a 10 lbs. weight loss. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
