After a small liposuction procedure, a GLP-1 medication such as Mounjaro is usually restarted once you are eating and drinking normally, nausea or constipation are not an issue, you are off narcotic pain medication, and your surgeon has no concerns about healing. For many patients this may be around the first couple of weeks, but the exact timing should come from your surgeon and the clinician prescribing the medication. The reason to be cautious is that GLP-1 medications can slow stomach emptying and reduce appetite. Restarting too early can make nausea, dehydration, constipation, or low protein intake more likely, and those can make recovery feel harder. Since your incisions are healed and your post-op medications are completed, you may be close to restarting, but please confirm with both your surgeon and the prescriber. If you have missed several doses, the prescriber may want you to restart at a lower dose rather than jumping back to the same dose.
