Can nose filler make my asymmetrical nose, more symmetrical?

Question

My nose is not aligned in the middle, it slants slightly to the right. Can nose fillers align it straight, without it appearing bigger? I would like a more softer looking nose.

Thanks for your question. Small irregularities and asymmetries in the nose can be improved with fillers and one can either use permanent or temporary fillers. Among the permanent fillers are FDA approved, Bellafill ® or fat transfer (which, of course, comes from your own body). Fillers will rarely improve nasal obstruction or make the nose smaller. For a life long result, a rhinoplasty is still generally the gold standard but many of my patients are delighted with what a filler can do, especially if one's expectations are properly managed.

When somebody has a crooked nasal appearance due to an indentation in the sidewall of their nose, adding volume to the concave side often leads to a straighter nasal appearance. Please consider me asking you a question with photographs for a more definitive answer. Thank you. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose. However, it won't make the nose appear smaller. Surgery would be needed to improve nostrils or overall shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you so much for your question.  Absolutely Yes!!!!  A non-surgical rhinoplasty will balance out any asymmetries and, if the injector is experienced, will not make your nose wider or bigger.  Seek out a physician who does this procedure every day and knows how to address your individual concerns.  This is an excellent way to give you the nose you have longed for without the downtime of surgery and without the cost of surgery.  Wishing you so much bliss on your journey!
