I am 37 years old and had a baby a little over a year ago. During that pregnancy I gained and have now lost 50 lbs. Since I have noticed a major difference in my chin area and have started to notice jowls beginning to form. What is the best course of action to get a sharp jawline back?

Answer: Sharp Jawline I would recommend a facelift/necklift. This would provide the best long-term result. I recommend finding a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Ideally, one with experience in facial aesthetic surgery.

Answer: Under jawline bulging You have several issues, all because of your genetics and weight loss only aggravated them: Bulging submandibular glands, thick digastric muscle, subplatysmal fat and all together have creating the obtuse angle of your neck, lack of definition of the jawline. So you are candidate for Deep plane neck lift in order to trim the bulging glands, trim the bulging muscle and trim the belly of the digastric muscle and tighten the platysma muscle to create a rejuvenated angled profile and sharper jawline (not masculine or exaggerated). If you get done Morpheus, or any type of “non” invasive procedures, the scar tissues and fibrosis will ruin the possibility of a great outcome surgery. Be encouraged! Dr. Cardenas
