Deciding between 270cc and 300cc round breast implants which will be more natural

This question is difficult to answer without knowing your overall measurements such as your base width diameter, tissue thickness, skin elasticity and a number of other factors. What I would suggest in this situation is that 30 cc will not be a very large difference and I would not be overly anxious about which implant to select. If these implants are sized appropriately for their base width, they should look reasonably natural. In general, the most common complaints of patients with regards to size is that they wished they had gone larger. If you like both sizes and are having a hard time deciding, I would recommend considering the 300 cc implant as this is still a fairly modest sized implant particularly for somebody who is 5’8”. It would be worth an additional visit with your surgeon to discuss your concerns and which option will be best for your anatomy.

The difference between 270 cc's and 300 cc's is negligible. It is only 30 cc's which is two tablespoons of size difference.. What is more significant is the shape of the implant chosen. ~300 cc's of a moderate or  moderate plus implant may be too natural (flat and wide) for some patients. A high profile implant gives more prominence which many patients love and others resists.There is a subtle difference between natural and nice. Presently, you are probably natural. But what you really want is to appear nicer, in and out of clothing. So be sure to try them on with a sports bra/swim suit. But also try them on with looser fitting clothing which tends to make them appear smaller. Remember that the most common reason to have them re-done is because the patient realizes later that she really like larger/nicer, rather than settling for smaller, more "natural".

Hello,These implants will be very similar in appearance. I recommend that you try on the implant sizers with a form fitting T-shirt to get an idea of the look you will achieve. Patients often report that breast implants seem a little larger when sizing so if you are comfortable with the look of either than keep in mind that you may find they look a bit smaller after. Not sure there is much difference between a 270cc vs. 300cc implant. Remember, it's hard to determine your best size without specific breast measurements and an in person exam. Please choose a board certified plastic surgeon who actually takes the time to measure you and examine your breast pocket. The goal of breast augmentation is to optimally fill your breast pocket, not to overstuff or understuff it. At my practice, we utilize a series of 5 breast measurements that help me determine the implant size, which in turn helps me deliver a 24 hour recovery. Do your research and choose a surgeon who takes the time to sit down with you and discuss your goals/expectations to determine the best size for you. Remember that sizers will only give you a rough estimate. Good luck!!

Consider imaging if available to you.  Trying on the implants is also helpful in my experience.  Over the years I have noticed that if the implants are too small the patient is angry at herself; if they are too big they are angry at me!

so when faced with adjacent sizes, my patients are ALWAYS told to go with the larger ones and from my experience, no one has ever been disappointed with that choice.

I normally don't try to answer questions about specific implant volume because it is virtually impossible to do without an exam.  Certainly, in your case the 30cc difference constitutes 10% of the total implant volume.  You are obviously very thin, so that will likely be a perceptible difference, though minor.  Neither choice is a real large implant.  At 5'8", you should be able to carry the larger implants well, and I do not think the jump to the 300cc implants is going to push you into the "too large" territory.  Also, you can think of it this way - 30cc is 2 tablespoons.  If you pour that in a cup and look at it, it's not much.  If the 270cc is going to look nice on you, so will the 300cc.  And visa versa.  You say you don't want to end up getting a size that is too big or going smaller and wishing you had gone larger.  I will say that, in my practice, the former concern is never expressed.  However, I do occasionally hear the latter.  So, my off-the-cuff advice without an exam, is pick the larger size.  Best of luck to you in both making your decision and undergoing your enhancement.  I'm sure you will do great!

The larger the implant the rounder or fuller it becomes in the upper pole of your breast hence less of a tear drop shape or less natural. Depending on your anatomy and breast tissue characteristics the 30cc difference maybe insignificant or noticeable. In general the smaller you are the greater that difference is going to make.Good luck!
