I saw a plastic surgeon (in Brisbane, Australia) recently and he said would not operate on my nose, as it has lots of soft thick tissue and he said that it would be too difficult to operate. One surgeon has said this: "Very thick skin in the nasal tip means you should never perform a rhinoplasty. No matter what you do to the cartilage, the tip will be bigger after surgery, not smaller! Try explaining that to the patient after surgery! "
Answer: Closed rhinoplasty, some advices: Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.The harmony between facial parts makes us instinctively recognize the beauty... without knowing it, without defining it, just a perception that surprises and captivates us.In this regard, I suggest perform a Closed Rhinoplasty (without visible scars) to treat the tip, base and nasal bridge. With this procedure you get a delicate nose, better harmonize with your other facial features.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Bulbous tip and thick skin Hi,Thanks for a good questiont is true that thick skin can limit the results of rhinoplasty, but as a generalisation it does not mean the procedure is it of the question. The key is balance expectation with what is technically possible and then if he surgeon and the patient are on the same page the procedure should deliver the expected result.I would suggest further opinions may be helpfulI hope that is of some helpJeremy Hunt

Answer: #rhinoplasty Hi. Whilst there is definitely an element of truth in what your doctor said i think he is being a bit harsh. Certainly you can have a small amount of swelling in the skin that can last a long time - 18 months. However there are multiple elements to your nose that can be corrected - asymmetry, overprojection, ala retraction and the tip can be rotated upwards. You could get a 2nd opinion from David Theile or Richard Theile who are both good rhinoplasty surgeons in brisbane. Regards Damien

Answer: Rhinoplasty I would recommend another opinion. Whilst some of the previous surgeon's opinion is correct, it does not rule you out for surgery. With thick skin the results of surgery are usually more subtle & it can take longer to settle than normal but I don't believe this should mean not to do it. As long as your expectations are reasonable & achievable then you should have an improved outcome. I certainly don't believe that your overall result would be worse & bigger than it currently is. You need to find a surgeon who has experience & is confident in performing rhinoplasty. All the best.

Answer: Thick skin and Rhinoplasty Thick skin is a challenge in rhinoplasty especially if your desires are for a refined tip. If you accept that your nose will not be refined then it is definitely possible to reshape your nose. Looking at your pictures it like looks as if you may have had a rhinoplasty in the past that has left your tip hanging? In either case a specialist rhinoplasty surgeon could achieve a better outcome for you. Hope this is helpful.
